With 700m2 of interior space, the apartment infuses the muted and monotone color palettes of hard architecture with random bursts of vibrant colors through selected art pieces, eclectic furniture, and unique interior accessories. Serving as an unofficial public area ideal for letting loose and having some fun, the upper floor of the house features a reception quarter as well as a fun activity room that houses pool and foosball tables. The spiral staircase leads to the lower floor, a decidedly more private space that features the bedrooms and the family living room.

They aim to shape spaces with “timeless designs” and want to be a globally recognized professional architecture and interior design company, providing solutions in the field of high-end corporate, commercial & residential interiors and exteriors. “Wood is a natural material that can bring warmness to the house.
In this project we used wood to give this village house a cozy feeling. We broke the monotony by adding a beautiful mix of warm and delicate colors.”
FJ Apartment by LAWAND ARCHITECTS
LAWAND ARCHITECTS was formed in 2015 and has steadily grown into a successful and broadly recognized design studio. Mahmoud Lawand, Founder and Creative Director, has gained over 15 years of experience initially in the modern design consultancy service sector in the middle east, exclusively designing the interiors and interior architecture for high-end developers across the Gulf and Middle East area before launching his own design studio to cater to the growing demand for his services. This all-black residential project blends sophistication and functionaly.
Charbel Tawil Design
Charbel Tawil is an interior architect and a product designer. He received his Master’s in Interior Architecture from the Lebanese University in 2008. He attended the MOOC Product Design course at the Delft University of Technology – the Netherlands with distinction. Before setting up his practice, he was involved in numerous projects with SEK Architects and Polypod. “In the heart of Beirut, Saifi Institute for Arabic Language teaches Arabic for foreigners. This educational institute is located in a unique traditional building where the general idea was to reserve the longstanding essence of architectural aspects. The main concept was to install floating/freestanding objects that respects the existing interior spaces while maximizing functionality.
For an inspirational flair, coming together with the graphic designer Rana Abou Rjeily for her collaboration in designing the branding, wayfinding, artwork and calligraphy in the space.
The three-floor space consists of 11 classrooms, 2 conference rooms, a library, a knowledge sharing amphitheater, along with a teacher’s lounge, administration and reception area, and an online learning room. Its interior colors were an implementation based on the Saifi Institute brand colors, in addition to the use of recycled wood panels.”
