At Hotel Jules & Jim in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, the 23 rooms are divided over series of small buildings, where “life centers around the convivial paved courtyard with its planted wall and real outdoor fireplace and the bar in a converted silversmith’s workshop.” There is a sense of modernity that is paired with a retro chic feeling, especially in the bar where the seemingly old hardwood flooring contrasts with the contemporary chairs and white counter.
