INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECTS BY DOUGLAS MACKIE
ENGLISH MANOR
An extraordinary house, just outside London, with Tudor origins. The project was developed as a direct response to the clients’ collection of 20th century British Art. Many pieces of contemporary furniture and textiles were commissioned uniquely for the project.
MARYLEBONE
An 18th century lateral conversion in the heart of Marylebone, extensively renovated over a one-year period. Contemporary art, antique textiles and custom made furniture combine to create a sophisticated and comfortable home.
A major refurbishment of a 6 storey townhouse, the house was designed in response to our clients’ brief as a classic English home.Much of the furniture was commissioned from English craftsmen, and combined with 18th and 19th century antiques.
HOLLAND PARK
A classic double fronted stucco house, we created an essentially modern interior, based around our clients’ art collection. Antique and modern are combined; custom made furniture set alongside antiques.
GLOUCESTERSHIRE
A grade 2 listed house, we have worked closely with our clients building their collection of modern British Art. The paintings were the starting point of each room; a contemporary take on a classic English country house
PROVENCE
A richly coloured house, the deep indigo blues and magenta pinks of the furnishings resonate in the southern light. Antique textiles and tribal art create a strong but essentially informal interior.
CHELSEA
A 19th century house in London, previously an artist’s studio. The renovation project took place over 2 years, constructing an extensive basement, replacing all of the internal joinery and recreating a richly textured 19th century interior.
