SUSTAINABILITY AND BIOPHILIA
Biophilia is the love for all things living and the key to biophilia design, such a trend when it comes to interior design. This idea has health, environmental, and economic benefits, and although its name was coined in recent history, indicators of biophilia design have been seen in architecture from as far back as the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
The appearance of the natural world, with its rich diversity of shapes, colors, and life, is universally appreciated and brings you several benefits, such as:
– Reduces stress levels
– Increases productivity
– Reduces sick days
– Makes workplaces more attractive
– Reduces pollution and cleans the air by reducing noise levels
– Boosts creativity levels
Biophilia is spread all over imm’s booths this year!
Natural materials such as design pieces made in wood are also very trendy this year!
Porada is known for its pieces born from the love for wood. The pieces are handmade by talented artisans that use ancient techniques and craftsmanship to turn solid wood into true art pieces! At imm Cologne 2020, you can expect a wide selection of design pieces, designed in association with international designers.
“Quality multipurpose furniture is versatile in its ability to adapt to many situations. Modular, reconfigurable elements provide freedom in arranging your home’s décor”, Vurni Versatile Furniture.
Mick also visited DelightFULL and Essential Home‘s boot at imm Cologne, located in Hall 11.1 | Stand D003. Create designn pieces based on different concepts are also one of the trends. At the booth, you’ll be able to travel backk in time and see the best of the golden years, mixed with jazz music and cinema! Can you imagine?
Turner Table Lamp, for exemple, inspired by the one and only Tina Turner! This is a dynamic lamp, such like its inspiration, and it has 5 movable arcs so you can move them into the desire position! Amy Table lamp was inspired by Amy Winehouse, and it’s impossible to say No, No, No to this design !
But what really caught Mick’s attention was Botti Suspension lamp! A unique piece handmade in brass by talented artisans that still use ancient techniques from the past to produce this master piece, in order to continue elevating design and craftsmanship! Botti was inspired by Chris Botti, and you’ll feel that you’re in the middle of one of his concerts!
