Today, Vintage Industrial Style Blog attended Trends Space, a special feature of the 25 years of Maison et Objet. Today, the special guest was Ramy Fischler, the designer of the year 2018. Ramy talked about design and action, and we’ll tell you all about it!
RAMY FISCHLER: DESIGN, ACTION
Influenced by the cinema world, Ramy Fischler has the quirk of never wanting to repeat itself. With fiction and collaborative work, the designer has the discipline to turn any object into a work of art. Even though the designer has statement pieces the most practical concepts belong in him as well.
Exploring the several territories of design, the designer of the year of Maison et Objet Septembre 2018 has worked in cultural, gastronomic and conceptual design spheres. After the award, French Academy’s Prix de Rome in 2011, the designer had an enlightened moment – through a moment in time, Villa Medici, turned into an inspirational point.
During the first day of Maison et Objet 2020, Ramy talked about his projects and the ways that we can use to innovate design. It’s the 25th anniversary of Maison et Objet, and the designer was asked to speak about the all these years. Instead of thinking about the past, Ramy believes that it’s more important to look at the future and what can be done.
“You can always antecipate the future”
The designer believes that the key is to live the present however always looking at the future. The Internet is our present and will certainly be our Future. Ramy talked about the importance of digital platforms and how younger generations can use them to antecipate the future.
