Based in South-East London, 1934 offer a range of furniture predominantly from the Modernist era.Not only are we contributing to the cause to re-use, but also the need to live in a design-conscious environment. 1934 was the year Gerrit Rietveld designed his “crate chair” – a chair that epitomises affordable Modernism – and so hopefully the furniture that we choose to salvage and provide contains the same principles. 1934 also make furniture mainly based on the construction principles of Rietveld and the counterparts of his era.
