With stunning architectural details and some serious stylish furniture, this modern apartment brings light and contemporary style to the heart of Medieval Barcelona – Barrio Gotico. Not surprisingly, considering the home’s occupants: Anke Summerhill, the Creative Director of Minotti London, and her husband John Summerhill, MD of Minotti London.
They renovated the apartment to create open space and rooms that flow into one another, while taking advantage of original assets like the existing brick walls and exposed beams. Curious?
The dining area features a circular white marble table underneath a contemporary descendant of retro sphere lighting: Atomic suspension lamp by DelightFULL. The lamp is a spot-on interpretation of the atomic age design. A set of glossy black and gold plated round shades, aligned by an asymmetric composition to enhance non-conventional molecular forms.

On the opposite side, the living area is filled with envious array of furniture and accessories from Minotti. There’s also a DelightFULL’s standing lamp and a soothing neutral color palette that make the apartment a comfortable yet sophisticated place.
GET THE LOOK:
Duke standing lamp by DelightFULL is an elegant floor fixture with a short silhouette and a single swing. Each lampshade is conducted by a brass arm and its counter-weight.
Light wooden floors and white walls create a bright backdrop for this apartment’s contemporary style. The kitchen flows easily into a stylish dining space, which is perfect for grabbing another bottle from the large wine fridge during dinner.
The design preserved much of the structure’s character, while updating its look. The Summerhills exposed original beams and brickwork in the living room, giving the contemporary space historic charm.
