Tommy Dorsey would celebrate his birthday today and we want to pay a tribute to him, to his MUSIC!

19th November was the day when Tommy was born back in 1905! He left us very young, with only 51 years, but that wasn’t a reason to the american jazz trombonist not leave us an important spot in music.

Tom Francis Dorsey Jr. was an american jazz trombonist, composer, among others. Tommy and Jimmy (his old brother) formed a band and they became famous as the “Dorsey Brothers” , something curious about Tommy is that he began to learn the trumpet with his father, but later turned to the trombone. His number one hits are “On Treasure Island”, “The Music Goes ‘Round and Around”, “You”, “Marie” and so many others!

Dorsey has been in our lifes because of his genius playing the trombone, for that reason we created Dorsey Suspension Lamp as a tribute to him, to what he has done for music side by side with Frank Sinatra, for example.
