It’s Time! Pack your bags! Next Stop: Frankfurt, Germany
It’s almost that time of the year again: Light & Building 2018 is almost here and we want you to eat in the best vintage style places in the city! That is why we are here today. Our mission is to present you our favorite Cafes in Town so you can visit. Grab your camera as well, this is worth an Instagram picture!
This first cafe/restaurant we are about to share with you is called Im Glück. Previously, this unique vintage shop was about 80 years ago, a small well-known butcher. It was a big challenge to unearth the gold treasures of that timepiece by piece and to transform it into a cafe in this vintage industrial style. But the hard work was worth it and the customers appreciate it very much. They attach great importance to fresh, high-quality products, that is why we trust so much in this place: everything is thought to take our welfare into consideration.
This is also an amazing cafe for you that are lactose intolerant: You can also choose between lactose-free, soy, rice coconut and almond milk. In addition, there are daily to the breakfast variations, hand-made bread and French-style rolls from traditional baked Feinbäckerkunst. This is the perfect place to eat breakfast before you go to the Frankfurt fair: Light & Building 2018.
French croissants either with butter and Grandma’s homemade jam, as well as small different types of breakfast with eggs, fruit salad with yoghurt, our legendary vitamin bomb, homemade organic crunchy cereals, Avocado bread, and many other things. Im Glück has one particular topic that makes it even more amazing: DOGS ARE WELCOME TOO!
Do you wanna know why locals love this cafe so much? The interior will make you feel at home and the waitresses are really nice and kind. The light is dimmed and the chairs/sofas are old and comfy. A great place to have a cup of tea at! In the evening you can go there to drink as well!
If you’re weary and tired from walking around at the Frankfurt event, you can come here for a nice cup of coffee or something to eat. Also, they offer a really nice breakfast on Sundays. As for the food, Cafe Maingold offers a careful short selection of dishes – we are particularly fond of their grilled feta cheese but they also offer salads, pasta and even Flammkuchen (the German take on pizza-like food).
The MOLA is a family-friendly neighbourhood café, which invites you to relax with its living room atmosphere and evolves into a cosy bar in the evening. Escape the stress of the Frankfurt fair life and come here, you can find: Whether with good coffee, delicious breakfast or Turkish specialities. Light & Building 2018, as you probably know, it’s an event about the top lighting brands in the market, so nothing better than a chill cafe to take a break from this.
They have something for every taste but attach particular importance to fresh and regional ingredients. The kitchen offers healthy soups, crunchy salads and international delicacies. To satisfy all tastes, they also offer daily fresh and homemade cakes and other sweets. Look forward to a warm and individual service in a relaxed atmosphere and discover the MOLA in the heart of Frankfurt.
Here’s another one! During the business hours, you can reserve individual tables or areas. In the evening you can also rent the Glauburg exclusively! Basically, their location lends itself to a casual setting, e.g. with snacks or a buffet. The seating can be individually varied, with a long table, several seating areas or bar tables. For special requests for drinks, food or decoration, they are happy to follow your ideas! They have experience with weddings, birthdays and company parties (if you belong at Light & Building 2018 team or if you are in this Frankfurt fair representing your modern lighting company, you can request the space just for you and teammates).
How about, for example, a rustic “Frankfurt evening”? Cold appetizers, such as dips, bread, hand cheese and various salads, followed by Frankfurt green sauce, Schnitzelchen, beef sirloin, eggs and potatoes. For dessert, there is a seasonal fruit salad in the glass or juicy chocolate hazelnut bites.
This is one of our all-time favorite unique vintage cafes in Frankfurt. In Cafe Crumble you can expect a place where you can feel good all around. Nice coffee house atmosphere, delicious breakfast and food, good coffee, different types of open teas, homemade cakes & friendly service – in short, a place where you feel like feel at home and in good hands.
Behind every used coffee bag is a story. They tell of people, of destinies around the coffee bean. And there’s this lady that takes sacks of coffee from local coffee roasters and integrates their imprints into her paintings. She receives suggestions from her research on the origin of the coffee bags. So there are many cooperatives that can enable humane working and living conditions in the network of fair trade. The printed sacks often symbolize the pride of coffee growers in their products, which are delivered all over the world. With her painting, she wants to set a sign for the fair trade in the third world.
